Site access has ground to a halt again -- it looks like the network is having some problems. Check out the Hostmatters Emergency forum at that link for updates -- It's after midnight here and I can't keep my eyes open anymore. But I wake up at six! Well, six-thirty -- or until I can make myself quit hitting the snooze button.

It could be that I am stupid
I just realized the site was down again. Oh noes! etc. Then I looked at the calendar: I do believe that today is when I had set my domain name to be transferred to another reseller, namely my hosting company. They had warned me it might take the site down for a bit. I sure hope that's the case. In any case I fired off another help desk ticket, and am bracing myself.
Update: nope -- it was a server monitoring tool failure, so they didn't realize the site had gone off line until I (or maybe someone else) notified them. Vigilance pays off! Anyway, they are taking the lazy tool down to the hosting company basement and giving it a good spanking.

Emerging from the ice
Spleenville.com is back up. I'm still waiting on the add-on domains (Timblair.net, Victorysoap.us, Twistedspinster.com) to come up. Stay tuned.
Update: they are waiting for the subdomains to propagate. They'll be up asap.
Update #2: we're all back up.

Loons
Oh this is hilarious. Some webfooted credulous plucked chicken is on the phone reading off every single hippyshit BushIsHitler™ talking point that have been chewed up and regurgitated and scraped up and dumped in the garbage and taken to the landfill and buried and converted to methane, which he breathes in... You know, all of it:
- There were no WMDs
- The Children! of Iraq! And their happy kites!
- That axe murderess who got executed in Texas -- the new Blessed Mother of the Church of the George W. Bush Haters
- All those poor murderers that were executed in Texas when Dubya was governor -- as if that was some sort of bad thing
Search and Destroy
I just got a message from Hostmatters. It was spammers. Spammers are swiftly replacing Nazis and tax collectors as the world's most hated beings, do they know that? Quite frankly I think it should be open season on spammers. Laws against hunting down and shooting humans should be lifted in the case of spammers. Come on, who's with me?
Monday, Monday
Well, someone out there sure is going out of there way to prove this true. Okay, okay, I believe, I believe! Now can I have my blogs back?
I am so bored I am listening to talk radio on the internet. That's REALLY REALLY BORED, people. Neeeeedddd... bloooggg....

Fun fun fun 'til her daddy took her webpage away
Being popular -- or something -- isn't all it's cut out to be. It looks as if we've gotten so many visitors that we almost blew up the internet. The Hostmatters folks are busy moving us to another location in the cyber world as I type this, so in order to keep their servers from being transformed into a Salvador Dali painting they've shut down the entire site. When it's up -- well, you'll all know.

Server down
It's down at the moment. I have to leave the house on errands so I won't be able to check in until later. A help ticket has been submitted to the hosting company.

On the road again
Reporting in late here: they got the site back up again. I must say they did it lickety-split; that's good service! It was that darn load on the database that did it. I wonder if it's all the people trying to register at Tim's site. Oh well.
I paid for and downloaded Expression Engine (the Pmachine Pro upgrade), so I'll install that sometime this weekend and see if it will work more efficiently. If worse comes to worse, I could take away the registration link and force wannabe commenters to email me directly, and then I'll register them myself.

down again
The database is down again on Timblair.net, and strangely, Twistedspinster.com. I haven't tried to do anything with the MT sites today; they also use mysql databases. A help ticket has been sent.

Server outage
The server is out again. The connection between the database and timblair.net and twistedspinster.com is down as well. I am currently at work so can't do much about this. Stay tuned.

Server down?
The site's server seems to be offline or down or something. I've submitted a help desk ticket and am keeping an eye on the status page.

It's not even the weekend yet
Right on cue, fuckin' electra (the drive all my sites live on) has gone down. Fortunately I was able to squeeze off an email to support@hostmatters.com a few minutes ago.

site down again
There seems to be another attack. Time to start fantasizing about hot irons, tongs, and the rack again.

Hosting Matters Emergency Support Forum - Network inaccessibility
They are investigating. Ah, isn't Friday night wonderful?
Update: it may be an insecure script. Evil!
And with that, I am off to bed.
2nd update: I forgot to mention; I just realize I don't have the correct time set on this blog. I manually changed the time of this post about a minute ago. The previous post was uploaded around 10:30pm January 7th (Friday night, that is).

Welcome to the Spleenville Emergency Broadcasting System
Greetings! I have set up this blog in case of regular-site outages. For example: currently (January 5, 2005, as of 6:00 PM Eastern time) Hostmatters, the hosting service that houses Spleenville.com, Timblair.net, Sine Qua Non, and Victory Soap, is experiencing down time due to scheduled server reboots.
