Blog problems updates

(This is crossposted at Victorysoap 3.0)

The blogs are slowly being restored. I can now get to Victory Soap 2.0's login page, but I'm going to leave that alone until all the missing blog entries are re-connected from the database to the new location of the site. Tim Blair is operational, but the same thing needs to be done with the missing September 2nd posts -- they are on the database, but need to be restored to visibility manually. I'm not doing this -- the hardworking folks at Hostmatters are. I'm just doing laundry. If I get the urge to post I'll do it here in the meantime.

Server lag issues

A server move didn't go quite so well for the site: all of the posts from September on my Victory Soap blog, and most of Tim Blair's posts for September 2nd, didn't want to go to their new home. The Hostmatters people are having to move them manually, so they won't be up for a bit.

On my end one more issue is that the blog isn't recognizing the new location for some of the scripts that run MT 3's back end, so I can't make changed to the site or make new posts. I am not so miffed as one might think -- I've been wanting to change the blog for a while, for various reasons. Perhaps this is a signal for me to do so. In the meantime, I may temporarily use my Blogspot account for new posts.

Where o where has my traceroute gone?

Not being able to get to any of my sites makes me feel like I'm not even on the internet. Here's the reason -- though I don't understand it. I don't like the whole "can't do anything about it" feeling either. What to do, what to do...

All the Spleenville sites are down including Victorysoap, Sine Qua Non, and Tim Blair's site. I can't get on the Hosting Matters website or, of course, any other site on Hosting Matters. Blogger is acting bizarre too. I can't even get any email from my Spleenville.com email address. Hello? Hellloooooo! Anyone there?

Update: Level3 are these... fine people. (I was not going to type "bozos." Honest.)

Final update: everything is up and running! And it turns out that it wasn't Level3's fault after all, but in fact the dreaded scourge of the world's weather. That's right: Al Gore breathed upon Atlanta and froze everything! Where is Batman when you need him?
